Charlie Pentland, E-RYT 500

Lead Yoga Trainer

Charlie has been a leader and trainer his whole life, practicing & teaching yoga for more than 15 years. His interests in movement, health & wellness have exposed him to a wealth of information ranging from nutrition to exercise science, as well as, many forms of yoga & physical training modalities. Charlie offers classes that are both diverse in their offerings & useful for people of all body types and interests. He uses class as a way to educate and aid students in personal awareness, development & growth. Charlie founded Chief Yoga & Wellness in B.C. and is currently offering virtual classes.

Dr. Joey Pucci, PhD, LCSW, E-RYT 500

Lead Yoga Trainer

Meet Joey!  She is a successful clinical trauma therapist running a private practice and traveling teacher trainer to boot! She loves to help her students challenge their thought patterns, embrace more gratitude, love their bodies, and feel more deeply into their emotions. Her priority as a teacher is to ensure that each of her students feels safe to connect to their body, spirit & physical practice.  Joey teaches and holds space for student to identify & embrace their full potential self, while practicing with breath, integrity, postural alignment and connection to feeling.  She encourages student to "go inside" and travel their own personal terrain, in a way that is compassionate, kind and struggle free.

Sugar the Frenchie

Meditation & Breath Work Coach

Sugar is here to support students both mentally and physically thorough her on-going use of yoga specific pranayama including Ujjayi and IAP. Not to mention her embodiment of yoga philosophy including, mediation, non reaction & Ahimsa.

Sugar's favorite poses include: Frog belly down (no props needed) & Savasana.

Sarah Kvist, B.ED., BSCN., Holistic Healer

Sarah is a reiki master who specializes in body intuitive healing. She will aid in group cohesion and connection during training as well as sharing her knowledge of energy bodies, elements, reiki and other healing modalities.

What style of yoga will I learn to teach?

This training experience is influenced by many styles of yoga & functional movement training which will help you find stability, strength & support in your own personal practice. There is a heavy influence of Hatha yoga styles including Forrest Yoga & Functional Restorative practice. This fusion of yoga styles will help you develop a safe & unique approach to creating effective sequences for your students.

 I just want to deepen my practice and not necessarily teach, can I take the program?

Absolutely!! There is no better way to deepen your own practice than taking a certified adventure like this one! You will develop a greater understanding of how the poses are used, how to warm up correctly, as well as developing depth & complexity over time. The practice of yoga is a lifelong journey and this experience is an excellent building block in your timeline. You will learn how to prevent injury, support healing, as well as modify for existing concerns.

 What are the days like?

We will meet bi-weekly over the weekend. Our days together are filled with many exciting adventures including morning yoga ceremony & movement, workshops, assisting clinics, energy & body work, interactive lectures, mediation, talking circle, teaching & more. Every session we will be moving our bodies, using our minds, and doing lots of personal work together. This is a integrative experience designed to change compensatory body and behavior patterns. You will be given tools, exercises and practices to use in daily life during and after the training. Part of this unique virtual training experience is having support and guidance as you create balance while implementing what you are learning as you continue to engage in your regular daily activities.

How much does the training cost?

We work with you to find a payment option that is fair and manageable. Most importantly, if this is the training for you, we want to help you make it happen! Some need based scholarships are available - Apply for a free consultation and let's connect! 

 How much yoga experience is required to take this training?

This is an appropriate training for all experience levels. Charlie, Joey & Sugar provide excellent verbal instruction with modifications and an ability to meet students where they are at. It may be beneficial to practice some form of yoga for a few weeks/months leading up to our time together, however, this is not necessary. No experience is required to take this training.

 Will I be qualified to teach yoga after this training? Where can I teach after I'm certified?

After completing this training you will be certified through a yoga alliance approved school which means you will be certified to teach yoga wherever you like.

Can I sign up for the 300 HR Program?

This 300 HR program is for you if you took a 200 HR program and...

Taking the Project Life Training was one of my best choices I’ve made in my life yet.  I have been to a few yoga trainings now and this is my favorite. Joey and Charlie are the couple who runs us and they are the best married power team I’ve ever seen. With the combined experience of both of Charlie and Joey  every question you can throw at them will have an answer ( trust me I never stopped asking, good thing they are extremely patient as well). Charlie is a movement master with a easy going funny personality. Every time I watched or took a class from him I just had to stop for a minute out of complete awe for how amazing it was. You are able to see his person in each class, it makes it natural. Charlie’s teaches you how to teach natural, how to teach like you. I’m a bit of a sensitive person and Charlie picked up on that. They way he gives constructive feedback is so sweet. First he reassures the good things you do: it’s so nice when you feel like your being judged to know you did so thing right. He will ALWAYS find the good in your class. He then gifts you with something to work on; and that’s exactly what it is it’s a gift from him not an insult. He will only give you one thing. That’s the best thing in the world to me, it’s not an overload it’s just making you better once you have helps you when your struggling, beer once did he let me feel like “ I can’t do this I have to leave now” hell let you try to work it out and right before you reach that point he will help you. Charlie won’t do It for you it will be a together effort. He will always meet you were you are, then you work together not alone. I’m convinced Joey is  a mind reader, I cannot prove it but after twenty minutes of taking a class with her you will know exactly what I’m talking about. Not only does she understand the mind she understand the muscular body in a way that is unique hers. It’s pretty much indescribably amazing , but I’ll give it my best shot. So your in a class , worried about how you look stressed that you don’t loop like someone else, maybe even upset with where you are at. Joey walks over to you puts her hand on your back and asks you to breath, that’s it just breath into her hand. Maybe if you’ve been with her for a while she will tell you to breath with IAP. You listen and breath, the struggle gets easier, the anxiety disappears and for a brief moment she takes some of the weight of your shoulders. It’s not so bad because all of a sudden you have this person who is helping you through life. Giving you exactly what you need when you need it. Joey is a constant support system I STILL heavily rely on. These are the teachers you want. Teachers who care about you. Teachers walk with you. Teachers who stay with you for the rest of your life, Joey and Charlie won’t leave you they are always their for you. As a mentor, a resource, and a friend. I’m joy saying you won’t struggle, if you have take a teacher training before you know it’s hard, challenging; I would not want anyone else to help me grow. To get me through the struggle. This course is GREAT! I came in a little nervous and intimidated and as soon as I walked through the door all my worries went away. this is the best yoga atmosphere i have ever experienced period. I know I'm coming out of this experience ready to take on my own classes. This training offers things you don't get in other trainings, like a manual (shocking, I know), a easy sequence formula (haven't seen those in another training), and bodywork (again super rare, but worth it).
